Hot Yoga: What to Expect in a Heated Class

By Daniele DennyMarch 12, 20264 min read

Hot yoga is one of the most talked-about styles we offer at Nourish & Flourish Wellness. Our heated classes are practiced at 85–90°F, creating an environment that deepens your practice in ways a regular-temperature class can't.

Why Heat?

The warmth helps your muscles warm up faster, allowing for greater flexibility and a reduced risk of injury. The heat also promotes sweating, which many practitioners find deeply cleansing and detoxifying.

What to Bring

- **Extra water** — you'll sweat more than a typical class - **A towel** (or two) — one for your mat, one for your face - **Lightweight, breathable clothing** — cotton gets heavy when wet; moisture-wicking fabric works best

Tips for Your First Heated Class

1. **Hydrate beforehand** — drink plenty of water in the hours leading up to class 2. **Eat lightly** — a heavy meal before class will make you uncomfortable 3. **Take breaks** — it's completely okay to pause, rest in child's pose, or step out 4. **Listen to your body** — dizziness or nausea means you need to slow down

Our Heated Classes

Heated classes combine intentional movement with the added challenge of warmth, helping many students feel more open, energized, and present in their practice.

Open to all levels.
